  • Impact of Esprit de Corps on Job Satisfaction: A Moderating Role of Fairness Perception.

    Abstract:
Esprit De Corps plays a significant role in increasing employee job satisfaction. The aims of this conceptual paper is to
provide a theoretical rationale of: a) direct impact of Esprit De Corps on job satisfaction; and b) the moderating role of
fairness perception for the positive relationship between Esprit De Corps and job satisfaction. It is argued that increasing
competition in the global markets is pushing businesses to focus on ways through which they could help build a much
stronger and more competitive workforce. This, principally can be achieved when the employees are happy and contented
with their jobs. Job satisfaction has been empirically studied as a significant predictor for various organizational outcomes
such as employee commitment, engagement, organizational citizenship behavior, information sharing, etc. Job satisfaction
has been empirically proven to be one of the most prominent features an organization looks after in order to boost its
performance, productivity and achievement of strategic objectives. Sadly, there have been severe issues outlined pertaining
to employees’ job satisfaction whereby, enterprises have been complaining for decreasing satisfaction levels. The current
paper has attempted to outline that organizations can effectively improve job satisfaction issue through Esprit de Corps
(team environment). The paper has critically appraised literature to outline that these factors are essential to help foster a
satisfactory work environment thus, induce job satisfaction amongst employees. Moreover, the paper has recommended
fairness perception can potentially moderate the relationship between Esprit De Corps and job satisfaction.

  • Impact of Leader Creativity Expectations on Employee Creativity: Assessing the Mediating and Moderating Role of Creative Self-Efficacy

    Abstract

This study analyses the impact of the leader creativity expectations on employee creativity and also investigates whether creative self-efficacy mediates or moderates the positive relationship between leader creativity expectations and employee creativity. A sample of 300 responses is drawn from the employees of the advertising agencies of Karachi (Pakistan) using cross-sectional survey questionnaire administered to them. The responses about employees’ creativity are rated by their immediate supervisors. We used variance-based structural equation modelling (SEM) technique with bootstrapping method to test hypotheses. The findings suggest that leader creativity expectations significantly increase employee creativity. In addition, creative self-efficacy does not moderate rather partially mediates the relationship between leader creativity expectations and employee creativity. Managerial implications are also discussed in the context of the advertising agencies of Karachi, Pakistan.

  • Impact of Internal Practices on Organizational Performance:A Review and Research Agenda in the Pakistan Banking Sector

Abstract: Investigation in organizational performance issues is becoming an important research agenda in the recent times. Considering this research agenda, the aim of the current study is to propose the novel conceptual model signifying the impact of organizational internal practices like organizational culture and organizational internal market orientation on the organizational performance in the perspective of organizational commitment as a mediator. Based on the relevant literature review, five research propositions have been framed. Also, the current study indicated the linkages and interactions that take place between organizational behavior and marketing concepts and its consideration at the organizational level which affects the organizational commitment leading to organizational performance. The two underpinning theories (i) Resource Based View (RBV) and (ii)Social Exchange Theory (SET) underpinned the proposed conceptual model. This investigation recommends that the Pakistan banking organizations should focus on their organizational culture and organizational internal market orientation as a strategy and implement them to meet their employees and bank goals. This implementation of the strategies will influence the organizational commitment and in turn enhance the organizational performance. Considering the current situation of the Pakistan banking sector, this study is expected to generate very useful insight for the future researchers, policy makers, branch managers and the
    regulatory authorities.

  • Validation of SERVQUAL Model in Relation to Customer Loyalty: Evidence from FMCGs in Pakistan

    Abstract

The aim of this study is to make a scientific contribution to understanding the relationship between SERVQUAL model and customer loyalty. The primary objective is to examine the composite relationship between SERVQUAL model and customer loyalty from the perspective of FMCG customers. The second objective is to investigate the relationship between each dimension of the SERVQUAL model in relation to customer loyalty. Through the self-rated survey, data was collected from the 400 walk-in customers of FMCG firms. Using PLS-SEM approach, the validation of SERVQUAL model was analyzed in relation to customer loyalty. Also, the influence of each dimension of service quality on customer loyalty was examined. The findings of primary objective revealed that the SERVQUAL model is significantly and positively linked to the customer loyalty. Further, the findings of the second objective revealed that each dimension of the SERVQUAL model has a significant relationship with the customer loyalty and depicts noteworthy contribution of service quality in literature. These findings suggest that SERVQUAL model is capable of being effectively used to evaluate the service quality in the FMCG market of Pakistan. Implications and future opportunities of the study are discussed.

  • Effectiveness of psychometric testing in recruitment process

    Abstract

An emerging new trend in the field of recruitment and selection is the use of Psychometric testing. The use of psychometric testing enables the recruiters to select only the best match candidates, the one who proved to be an asset to the organization. This research aimed to explore the effectiveness of psychometric testing in recruitment and selection through primary and secondary research. The primary data has been collected through in-depth interviews in the banking sector of Pakistan, and the analysis has been made through thematic analysis. The study explored that psychometric testing in recruitment is effective if used with a combination of other recruitment methods like face to face interviews and case studies. It was found that certain factors like time pressure, stress, limited options in the questionnaire and pressure of testing may have impacts on the responses of the candidates, but the psychometric results are more or less similar to their personality.

  • Examining the links between teachers support, academic efficacy, academic resilience, and student engagement in Bahrain

    Abstract:

The core drive of the current study was to investigate that how individual psychological capital resources including academic efficacy and academic resilience influence student engagement. Secondly, the study was also intended to test the direct and moderating role of teachers’ support on the prior relationships. This study was designed to assess the masters’ students
in the Kingdom of Bahrain due to the dearth of research in the domain.
Hence, we collected students’ 350 responses from a total of five private universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We employed structural equation modeling for the analysis purpose using SmartPLS software. Drawing upon Conservation of Resource Theory, the findings suggested significant positive impact of academic efficacy and academic resilience on student engagement.
Accordingly, the results also landed support for significant positive
relationship between teachers support and student engagement. Notably, the bootstrapping procedures also reported significant moderation of teachers’ support on the relationship of academic efficacy and academic resilience with student engagement. The presented study attempted to fill a void by examining such relationships due to the reason that previous researchers
have largely ignored the role teachers’ support towards furthering the capitalization of individual psychological resources for better student engagement. Our study, lastly forwards robust recommendations and suggestions for future researchers.

  • The impact of servant leadership on employees attitudinal and behavioural outcomes

    Abstract

The primary aims of this research are to test (1) if the servant leadership style of managers reduces the turnover intention of employees directly and indirectly through psychological safety and (2) if regulatory focus of employees moderates the relationship between servant leadership and psychological safety. This research answers the call by the researchers to analyse servant leadership as a stand-alone style. This study has been carried out among the schoolteachers working in private and public schools in Pakistan, a developing country in Asia. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted, and responses were collected from 255 teachers. A co-variance-based structural equation modelling approach was used to analyse the data. The salient findings are as follows: (1) servant leadership has a negative relationship with turnover intention, (2) psychological safety mediates the relationship between servant leadership and psychological safety, and (3) regulatory focus moderates the relationship between servant leadership and psychological safety. The findings are significant in strengthening the literature on servant leadership. Furthermore, theoretical and practical implications have been discussed.
